15 Ways To Tweak
Windows XP
Introduction
.:Back To PC Repair:.
When vendors ship Windows XP on it’s computer systems, they
are loaded and tweaked to meet the needs and specifications of the
various computer manufacturers…not you! Computers are then “ghosted” by
a centralized server and if some things are not just right, then it
is usually not caught until a customer complains about it. This installation
of Windows is ok for the average user, but the tweaker or geekster…it
is just not good enough.
Since you are obviously reading this article,
you are obviously not one of those average users. As you are probably
already aware, there
is a world of tweaks and changes that you can make in Windows XP
to unlock the hidden potential of this great Operating System.
We will
go over 10 things that I think will make your copy of Windows XP
run, look, and perform better. I will explain in detail why these
changes are necessary for me, then you will be able to make an informed
decision as to whether these changes are right for you.
There are actually
thousands of possible tweaks and changes you can make to Windows. Microsoft’s
website alone has more than 2000 pages of changes that can be made
in their XP Resource Kit Documentation.
Every
XP user has his or her own way of doing things and a variety of different
needs in regards to how they want Windows to look and
feel. You might not even like one or all of my tweaks that I list
here, but it will at least give you a starting point to opening the
door
to find more things to change. I challenge you to find what works
for you and then post your tweaks in our user forum associated with
this
site.
By posting your findings and suggestions, we should in no time
at all have an awesome collection of tweaks that can help make XP
work just
the way we want it to--instead of the way Microsoft thinks we want
it to.
